Living in war-torn countries like Yemen, makes it very hard to have consistent access to bare food essentials. Sometimes getting to the food is an even greater challenge.
A mobile idea in bringing the necessary food essentials out to the community via a food cart.
Project Food Cart was created to help bread winners who were out of work, and not able to provide a basic means of living for their family. A way to restore their hope and self-esteem by providing employment and feeding those in need.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”.
Our team worked with a welding company to build a cart that would be able to hold large amounts of cooking material and gas tanks in order to keep food warm.
Once ready it was given to the chosen family head with a full provision of grocery items such as Potatoes, Eggs, Bread, and Cheese so they would be able to go around different neighborhoods and sell the food.
This started to create continuous income for their families and provide access to food in much needed neighborhoods.
Check out this video showcasing the Food Cart making its way throughout Yemen.
