Many Yemeni cancer patients travel to Egypt seeking treatment that is difficult or unavailable to access in Yemen. For patients already facing the physical and emotional burden of cancer, the cost of essential diagnostic testing can become another major obstacle.
This campaign aims to fund PET CT scans for 540 Yemeni cancer patients in need, helping physicians evaluate their condition, monitor treatment, and make informed decisions about the next steps in their care.

The PET CT-Scan Project

Giving Patients Access to the Scans Their Treatment Depends On

For many Yemeni cancer patients, obtaining advanced diagnostic care is extremely difficult. PET CT scanning is not readily accessible in Yemen, forcing patients who need this service to seek care abroad.
Many patients receiving cancer treatment in Egypt require PET CT scans based on the recommendations of the physicians overseeing their care. These scans play an important role in evaluating cancer, assessing its progression, monitoring response to treatment, and helping doctors determine the appropriate course of care.

Why This Project Matters

A Scan Can Help Guide the Next Step in a Patient’s Treatment

For someone undergoing cancer treatment, a PET CT scan is more than an imaging procedure. It can provide physicians with important information about the location and activity of cancer, whether it has spread, and how well treatment is working.
For Yemeni patients already receiving care away from home, covering this diagnostic cost can help reduce financial pressure while giving their medical teams the information needed to guide treatment.
