Food has become a minor consideration in the daily lives of many people due to its increased accessibility. However, many people around the world are still food insecure like those living in Yemen. Conflict and now COVID-19 are driving people to increased levels of hunger in a nation who suffers from high poverty rates and hindered infrastructure. Donate now to provide food aid for Yemen.

Increases in the price of food means that a large portion of the population can no longer afford to purchase enough food to satisfy their hunger. On the edge of famine, 20.1 million people face hunger in the absence of food assistance with nearly 10 million being acutely food insecure. The United Nations predicts that acute food insecurity will increased from 25 percent to 40 percent of the population by the end of 2020.
In an effort to alleviate the hunger of the Yemeni people, Humanity for Relief and Development aims to feed those unable to feed themselves throughout the humanitarian crisis. Food aid baskets are one of the ways HRD provides hunger alleviation in Yemen. Packages contain non-perishable foods like rice, flour, eggs, dates, oil, beans, sweets, and water. As of August 2020, we have been able to provide a total of 1619 food aid baskets to families in the cities of Sana’a, Ibb, Rada’a, and Hodeidah. These food aid baskets are not just feeding one individual, but rather entire households! Just imagine how around 100 dollars can feed a family for two months on non-perishable food items. Strengthening and rebuilding communities cannot be done without first ensuring citizens are fed. Please click here if you are interested in donating for clean water as well.Â
